Slightly beyond the Tita Piaz shelter, we find the Baita Torino, which is used by the University of Trieste as an Alpine botanical research facility. At the Tita Piaz shelter a ring-shaped trail named "Bosco Flobia" begins, which is equipped for the visually impaired and the blind. At Casera Tintina the nature trail "Tiziana Weiss" begins: it is one of the first examples of self-guided trail in the Alpine area of Friuli Venezia Giulia.
Site
Ampezzo (Ud)
From Ampezzo you drive on along the SS 52 State road for around three kilometres to the fork for the Passo del Pura, which can be reached after several hairpin bends. At a fork where a votive chapel stands, you continue on the left and, after a short time, on a dirt road, you reach the rural tourism facility "Schene Welde" and the Alpine farm. You can climb directly to Passo del Pura from the Sauris lake, beyond the dam.

And then...
About 500 m after the Tita Piaz shelter, on the left, you take a dirt road leading to casera Tintina (CAI trail no. 215).
In Ampezzo, the Pinacoteca Davanzo art gallery inside Palazzo Unfer, with a magnificent collection of artworks, and the geological museum, where rocks and fossils covering a time span of 400 million years are displayed, are both worth mentioning. Other buildings of religious and historic interest are the church of San Daniele, the church of the Santissima Trinità (in Oltris) and the Palazzo Beorchia - Nigris of the 17th century, a typical example of Carnic architecture.
In Sauris, a German-speaking linguistic island, one of the "Club dei borghi autentici d'Italia" and member of the Alpine Pearls association, you can visit the ethnographic centre "'S Haus van der Zahre", which shows the everyday life of the inhabitants of the Lumiei valley through seven centuries, and the S. Osvaldo Historiographic Centre – Museum, at the rectory of Sauris di Sotto. The view over the namesake lake, with its majestic dam, is fascinating. This village is also known for the production of the renowned PGI Sauris raw ham, of the Sauris "speck", and of a likewise famous craft beer: the Zahre Beer.
