The Alpine farm lies on the northern sides of Monte Terzo and allows sweeping the horizon from the Coglians group to the Passo di Monte Croce Carnico, from the Pal Piccolo to the Pal Grande. Here you can admire the open-air museum of the Pal Piccolo, one of the main war theatres of the Carnia area during the first world war. In Paluzza – in the area called Enfretors – you can see the 13th-century Moscarda tower, an ancient bastion of the efficient customs defensive system, the "Castrum Moscardum". In Timau the "Fontanon”, a gorgeous perennial karst spring and the banned wood can be seen from the SS 52-bis road. The church of Cristo Re, which is particularly interesting for historical and religious reasons, hosts a 3.3-ton wooden crucifix and the ossuary.

And then...
After the hairpin bends, on the left-hand side, the trailing leading to the Monte Terzo Bassa hut and to the namesake mountain begins. From here, continuing along the northern side, you climb down to the Chiaula Grande hut, then reach the Lavareit Alpine farm.
Before reaching Cleulis, in Paluzza, in an area called Enfretors, you can see the Moscarda tower dating from the 13th century, an ancient bastion of the efficient customs defensive system named the "Castrum Moscardum". The church of San Daniele Profeta dating from the 18th century lies on the hill and overlooks the road leading to the important Passo di Monte Croce, with the remains of Roman fortifications. Some pillboxes dating back to WWII are also visible. The tower hosts an Alpine botanical garden showcasing autochthonous plant species.
In the village centre, the Duomo di Santa Maria incorporates the 15th-century apse of the ancient small church where Giuseppe Furnio, a painter from San Vito and follower of Pomponio Amalteo, worked in 1555, frescoing the groin vault and the lunettes. In the same chapel, you can admire Antonio Tironi’s wooden altarpiece from the first decade of the 16th century. An altarpiece dated 1661 portraying the Madonna del Carmine is also worth seeing. A large organ is still inside the church.
In Cleulis the rooms for weighing and processing milk, which have been refurbished and fixed up by a group of volunteers, can be visited (on request, please phone 3356100733).
Past Cleulis, in the hamlet of Timau, the "Fontanon”, a wonderful perennial karst spring and the banned wood can be seen from the SS 52-bis road. Furthermore, a tour of the church of Cristo Re, which is embellished by a 15-m-long wooden crucifix, the ossuary and the museum "La Zona Carnia durante la Grande Guerra” (The Carnia Area during the Great War) are worth a visit.
