The Pordenone shelter acts as a foothold to climb to the Campanile di Val Montanaia, a 300-m-high Dolomite pinnacle of a spectacular and wild beauty. The wonderful obelisk is part of the project "Meraviglia italiana" (Italian wonder).

After crossing the bridge on the Compol torrent and going past the hamlet of Le Vizze, you continue along the recessed stretch of the valley; you pass the usually dry ford of the Cellina river and, shortly thereafter, you reach the Pian Pagnon Alpine farm.
