The Alpine farm is located in a small hollow at the feet of the Col Scarpat and also includes the pastures of the Bos and Busa Bravin farms, whose long abandoned facilities are no longer recognizable. The stony pastures characterize the farm, as does the juniper, a plant usually avoided by animals because of its stinging leaves. The location of these pastures offers a broad view over the whole Friulian Alps range.

And then...
From the Costa Cervera farm you can drive through the long Cansiglio-Cavallo hogback on a partially bumpy dirt road and reach the fork toward the Col dei S’cios farm and, later, the Piancavallo plateau (CAI trails no. 981-982-984-990).
In the surroundings, in the Cansiglio wood, the remains of a hunters' camp dated around 11,000 B.C. have been unearthed.
In the municipality where the Alpine farm is located, Polcenigo, the relics of the ancient castle of 963 D.C. and the building dating from the 18th century, with its baroque façade, can still be seen. The old town centre is a member of the club Borghi più belli d'Italia (club of the nicest Italian villages). The Museo dell'arte culinaria (museum of culinary art) is based here. The church of the Santissima, next to the Livenza springs, is evidence to the Friulian cult of water and springs, which were thought to have miraculous powers linked to fertility and childbirth. Emperor Theodosius is claimed to have had a vision of the Trinity in this very area and to have had a sacred building erected here, which was later replaced by a church founded by convent friars from Venice in the 16th century.
Not far off is the damp area of the Archaeological Park "Palù di Livenza", which is interesting both archaeologically, for the remains of a stilt-house village, and environmentally. It is included in the list of ancient settlements on the Alps which are candidates to become part of the world cultural heritage protected by UNESCO.
The spring of the Gorgazzo river (a tributary to the Livenza river) is an environmentally fascinating site near Polcenigo. It is a wonderful intensely blue-coloured stretch of water which is fed by water that seeps through the crevices of the Cansiglio plateau or of Monte Cavallo and later resurfaces.
On the road leading to the farm you encounter the village of Caneva, where the remains of the surrounding walls and the fortified tower – a relic of the old castle – are still visible. The Renaissance frescoes in the 11th-century church of S. Lucia are impressive. The villas Frova, Carli, Luccheschi and Damiani di Stevenà are typical examples of stately country houses (19th century). The Santuario della Madonna del Persego shrine, the church of San Tommaso Apostolo (with three altarpieces by Francesco da Milano) are worth a visit. The Museo del ciclismo (cycling museum) dedicated to Toni Pessot and the Museo del minatore (miner's museum) in Fratta are both worth seeing.
The local foodstuffs are also famous: Caneva's FigoMoro, Alpine farm cheese, extra virgin oil, the red wines and Caneva's "verdisio", a white wine made from an autochthonous vine variety.
Sacile is also home to numerous architecturally and historically interesting buildings: the colonnaded palaces in the Venetian style of Piazza del Popolo, Palazzo Ragazzoni-Flangini-Biglia (15th century), with a cycle of frescoes by Francesco Montemezzano, Palazzo Bellavitis (17th century) – embellished by terraced Venetian floors and, inside, a pit and a 50-plus-year-old white oleander –, the fortified towers of Prà Castelvecchio and Largo Salvadorini – relics of the old 14th-century ramparts.
The religious buildings are also remarkable: the Duomo di San Nicolò (1496), the church of the Madonna della Pietà (17th century), the deconsecrated church of San Gregorio (16th century), the Oratorio di San Giuseppe (1600).
