Lussari

The name of the Alpine farm is linked to the Monte Santo di Lussari, on whose top a 16th-century sanctuary lies, whose origins date back to the miraculous finding of the sacred image of the Madonna by a herdsman from Camporosso. The church is also named "of the three peoples", since it is a place of pilgrimage for all three nationalities bordering it. It contains fine paintings by the Slovenian painter Tone Kralj. Furthermore, the picturesque namesake village that developed around the shrine is worth seeing.

Tarvisio (Ud)

The Alpine farm is connected to Camporosso by a cable car. You can also reach the hut from the Saisera valley along the old military road. There is another route there that is peculiarly named "Sentiero del Pellegrino" (pilgrims' trail), which you can take from the Val Canale valley, setting out from Lussari.

And then...

From the Alpine farm, in addition to climbing down the ascents paths, you can cross the hogback of Monte Florianca, then descend to Tarvisio along the trails of the ski slopes of Monte Prisnig.

In Camporosso, a summer and winter, tradition-rich tourist resort, you can see the parish church of 1444 and the small church of Santa Dorotea, which was built in the year 1000 and is perched on a spur of rock. The Roman gravestones are of great historical value.

In Tarvisio, the parish church, the square and the monument to the Austrian grenadier are very evocative. In its surroundings, you can find the Forest Museum and the lakes of Fusine.
